Where the cancellation rumor started
The current wave comes from a July video titled BREAKING NEWS - YGT Event Cancelled!!! Its title sounds definitive, but the description is more careful: it says “rumors are floating around” that the Teeth of the Dog event has been cancelled and moved somewhere else. That distinction matters. Cancelling a venue is not necessarily cancelling the competition.
In the video, the host says his sources indicate YGT will not stage Stop 2 at Teeth of the Dog in the Dominican Republic. He does not identify those sources or show an announcement from YGT, the course or Casa de Campo. What follows is a plausible explanation for a move, but it remains an unattributed report.

The response underneath the video became part of the drama. Several prominent comments objected that “cancelled” and “relocated” are not interchangeable and called the headline clickbait. What YGT originally announced
Grant Horvat’s official May explainer named Teeth of the Dog as the second of four stops, after Pursell Farms and before Cutalong and Wynn Las Vegas. Contemporary coverage from Golf Digest reported the same four-course rota and warned that tour details were subject to change. Neither source supplied a public Event 2 filming date or release date.
That missing date left a vacuum after the Pursell Farms finale. It is reasonable for fans to ask whether plans changed, especially when a commentary channel claims to have sources. It is not reasonable to turn a possible venue change into proof that the second $500,000 team event—or the YGT season—has been scrapped.
YGT’s recent public video channels also do not provide a replacement venue announcement. A new Grant Horvat and Bryan Bros road-trip collaboration released this week is a separate four-part series about major-championship courses; it does not announce Event 2. Treating any travel upload as a secret YGT clue would create evidence that is not there.
The status fans should use right now
The most accurate label is venue uncertain, event not publicly cancelled. Teeth of the Dog remains the last officially announced location, while the relocation report deserves attention because it is specific enough to be checked. California remains a rumor, and Omni La Costa remains one commentator’s guess.
A real confirmation would be straightforward: a post or video from YGT, Horvat or the Bryan Bros naming the new course; a statement from Casa de Campo; or matching details from the replacement venue. Until one of those appears, the Event 2 tracker and YGT schedule should not silently rewrite the stop.
If YGT does move the event, that would be a material production change rather than evidence that the concept is collapsing. The first stop required multiple channels, four teams, wildcards, camera crews and a multi-video release. Moving that operation closer to the creators’ U.S. base could be practical.
